Raven Pro Web: E-mailing A Tax Return

In Raven Tax Pro Web, there are two ways to email an encrypted copy of a client’s tax return: from the client list or at the end of the return in the e-file process.

From the Client List

  • In the Office Client List, locate the client you want to email and select the Tools drop down menu, then Email Return.
  • File to Attach – ProWeb prepares and attaches the PDF for you. This includes the entire return as well as client letter and invoice.
  • Rename PDF to – The default return file name is Tax Information.pdf. If you’d like, you can change it.
  • File Password – When the client opens the file, they will be prompted to enter a password to access the pdf file. Assign a password to encrypt the file being sent. The assigned password must be at least 8 characters and must contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a special character (!*$#).
  • File Password Confirmation – Re-enter the password.
  • (Enter the taxpayer/spouse’s email address under Send To. The tax preparer’s email will pre-populate from Preparer Configuration.
  • The Message Body explains that the file is password protected. The last four of the primary taxpayer’s SSN must be entered for the PDF to open.
  • Click Send Email. 

From the E-file Process

  • In the E-file process at the end of the return, in the Submission step click the button Email Return. ProWeb will create and attach a PDF copy of the return. This includes the entire return as well as client letter and invoice.
  • Enter the e-mail address under Send To.
  • The Message Body explains that the file is password protected. The last four of the primary taxpayer’s SSN must be entered for the PDF to open.
  • Click Send Email.
